Message from Dara

Sawasdee kha, welcome to G9 Bangkok. I was inspired to open G9 after one of my many visits to the world famous Chatuchak weekend market (just 10 mins walk from G9).

Walking around, I noticed tourists loved the market as much as locals – with more than 8,000 stalls in over 35 acres of land there’s a lot to like! Whether you are after handmade cushions, antiques, designer or casual clothes, art, books, home ware, furniture, and more, there is something for everyone – the market has a very special ‘happy vibe.’

We want our guests to enjoy a similar vibe – G9 is designed to meet the needs of individual travellers, as well as groups of young souls coming to discover Bangkok’s historical and spiritual roots and enjoy its many attractions.

Given the city’s size, buzz, busy roads, and heat, it can be an exhausting experience. That’s why we provide a cosy, great value for money place to stay filled with modern conveniences and comforts.

Whether you are from near or far, a regular or first time visitor, we want you to be our special guest!

Yours sincerely,

Dara Packpongphanchai

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

Our neighbourhood

From our Phaholyothin Road address, we are perfectly placed to help you enjoy the best of Bangkok especially if you love shopping at the world famous Chatuchak weekend market.

Beloved by locals and tourists, the 35-acre market attracts more than 200,000 bargain hunters every weekend. Chatuchak is home to more than 8,000 stalls selling just about everything including antiques, jewellery, home ware, furniture, all types of clothes, sunglasses, art, shoes, books and more. For a great taste of Thai cuisine, you can also visit the adjacent Or-Tor-Kor food market that is widely recognised as one of the best of its kind in Thailand. You can also view, smell, touch, and buy a big selection of local and overseas orchid varieties at the Siam Orchid Center.

Also close by is Chatuchak Park (5 minutes by walk) and the 150-acre Rod Fai Park (10 minutes by taxi) that’s a big favourite for cyclists and joggers who love its shady tracks and trails. Other neighbourhood attractions include the Channel 7 Thai boxing venue (just across the road) that attracts Muay Thai fans globally. And for mall shopping and dining, we are close to Union Mall and the Central Department store.

Big city attractions

We are equally close to the Mo Chit sky train (BTS) and Chatuchak Park (MRT) subway stations – within 15-20 minutes by train you will reach Bangkok’s famous Patumwan shopping district (Siam Paragon, MBK, Platinum Fashion Mall, Pratunam Market, Siam Discovery, and CentralWorld malls) and Sukhumvit road’s array of dining, pubbing and clubbing zones.

You can also connect to other trains/water taxis to visit Bangkok’s must see sights such as the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, the reclining Buddha and more.
